Creating and using a few links is no big deal, but creating and managing links on an ongoing basis is a challenge.
At Vivoldi, we've spent a lot of time and battled with ideas to overcome these challenges and make link management easy and convenient.
There are many different reasons for using shortened URLs, but they all have one thing in common: creating links and wondering how many users clicked on your link.
In the October 2022 update, Vivoldi added the ability to receive notifications about the number of clicks on your links.
Let's take a closer look at this feature.
Set the number of link clicks on the Preferences page
To be notified about link clicks, you first need to set up how many times you want to be notified when a link is clicked.
Go to the "Settings -> Preferences" page in your dashboard and click on the "Link Settings" tab at the top of the screen.
If you haven't done anything else, the number of clicks is set to 1,000 2,000 3,000 by default, as shown in the image below.
After you create a link, you can receive click-through notifications when users click on your link for the 1,000th, 2,000th, or 3,000th time.
The link clicks are for today, not cumulative. So when the clock strikes midnight (12:00 am), they are recalculated from the beginning.
To see how the notification works, simply go to the "Link list" page, check the link clicks for today on the link you want to test, and add the number of clicks with +1.
You don't need to be notified for every link you create, just check a separate option when you create a link, as shown in the image below.
If you want to set a click count for a link that has already been created, just check the "Send clicks push" and "Send clicks mail" options on the link edit screen and save.
What is click-through push delivery?
Click-through push notifications are sent to devices that have Vivoldi's mobile app installed.
So if you don't have the mobile app installed on your phone, you won't receive notifications.
If you have the mobile app installed on both your phone and tablet, you will receive the notification on both.
Advanced tip: If you have the mobile app installed on your tablet and you're logged in with a different account, you won't receive a notification because only the account that generated the link will be notified.
To install the mobile app, click the button for each store at the bottom of the Vivoldi homepage and you will be taken to the installation page.
The image below shows the click-through notification sent as a push message on a mobile device.
What are click-through emails?
Click-to-mail notifications are sent to the email address of the account you signed up for with Vivoldi.
This means that you can receive notifications by email even if you don't have the mobile app installed.
If you don't receive them, please check your "Spam" folder and unsubscribe from spam.
If you don't have mail set up on your mobile device and only check your mail on your desktop PC, we recommend using the "Push clicks" option.
The image below shows a click-through notification sent to your email. It sends a little more information than a push notification on a mobile device.
This feature is available on Vivoldi's Personal plan, and we'll be updating the click-through notification feature in the future.
Thank you.
