Are you paying for three AI subscriptions every month, yet ending up using only one?
Subscribing to the paid versions of Gemini, ChatGPT, and Claude costs a considerable amount of money each month. However, most people push all their tasks to the one AI they are familiar with, using the other two merely at a “Should I ask this one?” level. If that’s the case, a significant portion of your subscription fees is currently being wasted.
This article is not about ranking which AI is superior. For anyone subscribed to all three AIs, I want to emphasize that true productivity emerges only when you assign roles based on what each AI does best. Having worked in development for 26 years, I have used Gemini, ChatGPT, and Claude almost daily for work and personal projects for about 2 years. There was a lot of trial and error at first, but now I have very clear standards for which AI to use for which task.
By the time you finish reading this, you will walk away with specific AI combination strategies you can apply starting tomorrow. I am revealing proven workflows used in actual business—from YouTube video production and mass translation to blog writing and development coding.

Why is a Single AI Insufficient?
Do you remember when you first paid for a ChatGPT subscription? That alone was surprisingly powerful and useful. Over time, however, you start to feel its limitations bit by bit. The thought “Why is it so bad at this part?” crosses your mind, and at some point, you find yourself adding both Gemini and Claude to your subscription list. ChatGPT was likely the first paid AI subscription for most people. The same was true for me.
The three AI services were built on different philosophies and technical foundations. Gemini has evolved based on Google’s massive search infrastructure and real-time information, ChatGPT capitalizes on OpenAI’s thorough and versatile analytical capabilities, and Claude advances through Anthropic’s precise language comprehension and coding proficiency. This inherently means their strengths and weaknesses are distinctly separated.
Just as building a great team requires dividing roles according to each member’s expertise rather than assigning everything to one person, the same applies to AI. As time passes, the gap in output quality and work speed between someone who combines all three and someone who uses only one widens significantly. From now on, I will speak candidly about what each AI excels at and where they fall short.
Gemini — The Powerhouse of Real-Time Search and Image Generation
True to its nature as an AI developed by Google, Gemini demonstrates an overwhelming advantage in search capabilities. When you need answers requiring the latest information or need to extract content from specific web pages or communities, Gemini is incomparably faster and more accurate than other AIs.
Claude, in fact, struggles in this area. For instance, if you ask it to read a specific thread from a community like Reddit, Claude often replies, “I cannot access Reddit via web scraping tools.” When you need to find specific posts or community information, choose Gemini without hesitation.
While all three AIs feature Deep Research capabilities, experience shows that Gemini digs the deepest and gathers information from more diverse sources. Its ‘Audio Overview’ feature is particularly unique. It converts research reports into an AI-generated podcast format, allowing you to grasp the content by listening while commuting or when looking at a screen is difficult. It’s a much easier way to digest complex reports.
Integration with Google services like Gmail, Google Docs, and Google Sheets is also seamless. If you are already utilizing Google Workspace for your business, combining it with Gemini will elevate your productivity to the next level.
In the realm of image generation, it currently showcases the best performance among the three AIs. Launched in August 2025, Nano Banana created a massive stir in image generation and editing, receiving an explosive response with millions of images generated in various countries, especially India. In November of the same year, Nano Banana Pro, based on Gemini 3 Pro, was released, adding expert-level features like up to 4K resolution, multilingual text rendering, and lighting/angle adjustments. Early in 2026, Nano Banana 2 debuted, capturing both speed and quality to become the default image generation model for the Gemini app.
The maturity of the Nano Banana series is noteworthy enough that some creators who previously used Midjourney are migrating to Gemini for image generation. Its fine-tuning ability to request detailed adjustments in natural language after generating an image is also exceptional, helping you quickly reach your desired result without repetitive prompt engineering. Many people state that Nano Banana is one of the primary reasons they can’t easily cancel their Gemini subscription.

What Gemini Does Exceptionally Well
- Real-time web search and latest information gathering
- Deep Research and Audio Overview generation
- Image generation and editing utilizing the Nano Banana series
- Integration with Google Workspace services (Gmail, Docs, Sheets)
- Long-form prompt input and output - Translating massive documents (strong at handling long texts)
Gemini’s Weaknesses
- Relatively weaker in coding tasks compared to Claude (sometimes misses the original business logic during code refactoring)
- Occasionally falters in maintaining logical consistency when writing lengthy text
ChatGPT — The Expert in Review, Proofreading, and Thorough Analysis
ChatGPT was the first AI I paid a subscription for, and I used only this service exclusively for a long time. It excels in many areas and is packed with highly useful features. However, I have now redefined its role from an “end-to-end AI” to “the AI in charge of final review and proofreading.”
ChatGPT’s most prominent strength is its thoroughness. If you show ChatGPT an answer drafted by Gemini or Claude and ask for an evaluation, it meticulously points out any missed details. The same goes for development code; it quickly detects bugs and suggests stable code improvements considering future maintainability.
There is a crucial point here. ChatGPT is far superior at reviewing and enhancing outputs generated by other AIs rather than creating from scratch. When requesting a draft using the same prompt, it may sometimes fall short of Claude’s brilliance, but if you hand over a result produced by Claude or Gemini and say, “Make this better,” the quantity and quality of the improvement points ChatGPT uncovers are on a different level. Once you understand this characteristic, the way you utilize ChatGPT changes completely.
Its proofreading capability is also outstanding. It catches grammar errors and typos, as well as outdated or inaccurate expressions. Regardless of which AI you use to write, I highly recommend making it a habit to entrust the final proofreading to ChatGPT.
Custom GPT and Project settings are also incredibly useful. Setting up a Custom GPT optimized for specific tasks once can save you massive amounts of time on repetitive workflows. While creating projects is possible for free, building Custom GPTs requires a paid plan. A major advantage is that once built, you can continue to use them even after your subscription expires.
The ‘Work with Apps’ feature offered in the desktop app (for macOS) is also highly practical. ChatGPT can directly read the screen content of currently open apps, so you don’t have to manually copy and paste terminal output values. This is an especially valuable feature for developers.
The coding tool Codex (based on the GPT-5.3-Codex model) is also worth noting. It rivals Claude in coding capability and can handle more proactive and automated tasks beyond simple coding, such as batch-renaming files in a folder full of images into alt-text descriptions for each respective image.

What ChatGPT Does Exceptionally Well
- Reviewing and improving outputs created by other AIs
- Grammar correction, fixing typos, and refining expressions
- Discovering bugs and improving code stability
- Creating Custom GPTs and automating repetitive tasks
- Proactive coding and file manipulation using Codex
- Integration between the desktop app and open apps (macOS)
ChatGPT’s Weaknesses
- Tends to drop in quality during long-form outputs (use caution for translations and generating lengthy texts)
- Somewhat unstable when drafting creative content from scratch
- Real-time search accuracy is lower compared to Gemini
Claude — The Core Partner for Coding and Extensive Document Work
Claude is the AI of choice for many developers when it comes to coding tasks. In fact, I rely on Claude for almost all my development-related code writing.
Currently, Claude Opus 4.6 is evaluated as one of the most outstanding models in coding and reasoning, while Claude Sonnet 4.6 is perfectly suited for daily tasks requiring speed and efficiency.
Another of Claude’s strengths is its long document processing. It excels at stably maintaining massive context windows while analyzing documents and drafting logically coherent texts. It is highly capable at handling lengthy translation tasks and perfectly suited for multilingual projects involving multiple languages.
Claude also shines when writing image generation prompts. In my experience, image prompts crafted by Claude yield much more detailed and effective results than those written by ChatGPT. If you want to extract the best possible images from Gemini’s Nano Banana, you should let Claude handle the prompt engineering.
Claude’s exclusive features further elevate its subscription value.
- Cowork: You can assign complex, multi-step tasks, and it will execute them using local files. For example, if you designate a folder of scanned receipts, it will read the contents via OCR and automatically generate an expense report.
- Computer Use: A feature where Claude directly views and operates your computer screen. It can automate repetitive tasks or interactions with GUI-based software.
- Dispatch: If you issue a task from your mobile device, Claude on your desktop processes it while you are away. You receive notifications upon completion, allowing you to maintain productivity on the go. It automatically selects the appropriate mode between Cowork (Research/Edit) and Code (Coding) and requires a Pro or Max plan, along with the Claude desktop and mobile apps.
- Claude Code: A terminal-based agentic coding tool. It can perform complex development tasks directly from the command line, making it exceptionally useful for developers.
In terms of connectivity, Claude is the most versatile. Through the Notion connector, it can read and write Notion documents, and by connecting Custom MCP (Model Context Protocol) servers to Claude, you can directly control various apps and services via Claude. While ChatGPT also has connectors for Notion, Spotify, etc., their success rates fluctuate, whereas Claude’s connectors operate reliably. However, setting up more than two custom connectors requires a paid subscription.
The only downside is its usage limits. While you don’t frequently hit limits under normal use on the Pro subscription ($20/month), heavy users sometimes find the restrictions frustrating.
To mitigate these usage limits as much as possible, delegate only critical tasks to Claude and assign routine workflows to Gemini and ChatGPT.

What Claude Does Exceptionally Well
- Coding, debugging, and code review (Top tier as of Opus 4.6)
- Analyzing long documents and writing logical texts
- Drafting prompts for image generation
- Multilingual translation (Capable of handling long texts)
- Automated workflows utilizing Cowork, Computer Use, and Dispatch
- Controlling external services via MCP server integration
Claude’s Weaknesses
- Real-time web search capabilities are inferior to Gemini
- Usage limits exist on the Pro subscription
- Lacks a native image generation feature (Can only write prompts)
The 3 AI Combination Strategy — Practical Workflows
Once you grasp the strengths of each AI, the core lies in how you practically combine them.
No matter how good a tool is, using it in the wrong sequence drops efficiency. I am revealing four workflows I have rigorously verified in real business operations and projects. You can follow these patterns exactly or adapt them to suit the nature of your work.
Workflow 1 — YouTube Content Creation for Video Creators
If you create video content, leveraging all three AIs step-by-step from idea generation to thumbnail completion allows you to produce team-level outputs even when working alone.
① Ideation & Scriptwriting → ChatGPT
Once you decide what video to make, leave the idea formulation and scriptwriting to ChatGPT. You must clearly state whether it’s for a Shorts video or a standard 16:9 ratio video when requesting. The structure and pacing of the script change completely depending on the format.
② Title & Description Drafting → Gemini or Claude → ChatGPT Review
Do not entrust the video title and description to ChatGPT from the start. Experience dictates that requesting a draft from Gemini or Claude first, then showing that output to ChatGPT to ask for improvements yields far superior results. This is because ChatGPT shines much brighter in reviewing and refining results created by other AIs than it does generating from scratch.
③ Thumbnail Image Generation → Claude (Prompting) + Gemini (Generation)
If you need a thumbnail image, ask Claude to write the image generation prompt. From experience, prompts crafted by Claude produce more detailed images that are closer to the desired outcome than those by ChatGPT. Input the prompt Claude wrote into Gemini’s Nano Banana to generate the actual image. Do not expect a perfect thumbnail on the first try. You will need a process of iterative modifications at least 2~5 times.
④ Multilingual Title & Description Translation → Claude or Gemini
If you need to translate your video title and description into multiple languages for a global audience, assign it to Claude or Gemini. ChatGPT tends to drop in quality for lengthy outputs, making it unsuitable for bulk translation tasks. If you must use ChatGPT, break the text into multiple short sentences and request them separately.
💡 Practical Tip
When asking Claude for a thumbnail prompt, provide the video title, core keywords, and desired mood (bright/dark/minimalist, etc.) together to yield a much more precise prompt. After generating the image in Gemini, immediately request adjustments in natural language for any parts you dislike. The more specific your request, like “Make the expression of the person on the left brighter,” the faster you reach your desired result.
Workflow 2 — Mass Translation Work
A task you encounter just as frequently as YouTube production is translation. When you need to translate blog posts, product descriptions, or marketing materials into multiple languages, your choice of AI and batch-allocation strategy determines the final quality.
Basic Principle: Exclude ChatGPT from Long Translations
If you ask ChatGPT to translate a text of about 6,000~10,000 characters, the translation quality noticeably degrades as the text gets longer. It won’t translate it all at once, and ChatGPT will annoyingly keep asking you if you want it to continue translating. If you are forced to use ChatGPT, you must break the request into chunks of 2,000~3,000 characters. To avoid this hassle, it is much wiser to entrust it to Gemini or Claude from the beginning.
Recommended Strategy: Ask Gemini to Split into 2 Languages at a Time
While Claude is capable of translating multiple languages at once, requesting all languages simultaneously will quickly exhaust token limits. The most efficient method is to split the request into 2 languages at a time with Gemini. For example, dividing it into English+Japanese, Spanish+Indonesian, and German+French minimizes token consumption while retaining high quality.
Final Review after Translation goes to ChatGPT
After the translation is complete, assigning the final check to ChatGPT to ensure there are no awkward expressions or errors can elevate the overall quality to the next level. ChatGPT’s meticulous review capability truly shines in translation outputs as well.
💡 Practical Tip
When requesting a translation, instead of simply saying “Translate this,” provide the tone of the text and the target audience. For instance, giving context like “This is a blog post targeting business professionals. Translate it naturally in a formal tone” yields significantly more natural translation results. This is especially vital for languages with complex honorific systems, like Japanese or German.
Workflow 3 — Blog Post Writing
Once the translation is done, you need to publish that content on your blog. Even in the process of finalizing a single blog post, leveraging the three AIs in stages ensures both top-tier quality and efficiency.
① Article Summary & Table of Contents → ChatGPT
Once the topic and direction of your writing are decided, first ask ChatGPT to draft an article summary and a table of contents. ChatGPT excels at structuring and organizing outlines. The skeleton of the entire article is completed at this stage.
② Body Content Drafting → Claude
Pass the summary and outline created by ChatGPT to Claude and have it draft the actual body content. Claude is highly proficient at logically and coherently writing long texts. If you want the best possible result, don’t try to finish it in one go; after the initial draft is complete, ask Claude to review it and go through a revision process 2~3 times. You will personally feel it getting slightly better with each revision.
③ Meta Title & Description Drafting → Gemini → Final Polish by ChatGPT
For SEO meta titles and descriptions, Gemini, with its strong real-time search, is ideal. Hand the article’s summary over to Gemini, have it find pages ranking highly for similar topics, and ask it to draft the meta title and description referencing those trends. However, absolutely do not use the meta tags generated by Gemini as is. It is highly recommended to request a final review and polish from ChatGPT before using them.
💡 Practical Tip
When asking Claude to draft the body, simply paste the outline created by ChatGPT and specify, “Write the blog body based on this table of contents. The audience is [Target], and the tone should be [Friendly/Professional],” to get a much more consistent result. After receiving the draft, asking Claude again, “Tell me any logically weak parts in this text or what should be added,” prompts it to point out areas for improvement on its own.

Workflow 4 — AI Coding Strategy for Developers
After publishing your blog post, it’s time to move on to service development. We have entered an era where tools like Claude Code and Codex can generate entire codebases with a single command from the terminal. However, speaking as someone who has worked in development for 26 years, this approach demands caution.
Why You Should Request in Batches
Delegating code writing entirely to AI from start to finish might seem to yield fast results, but it will consume a massive amount of time later when you need to modify or comprehend the code. If you cannot personally understand the code generated by the AI, that code ultimately becomes technical debt that is difficult to maintain. Extracting the plan from your mind and making the AI understand it is a formidable task in itself.
I divide code into feature units or batch units and request them from Claude via standard chat. It might seem less efficient, but by manually reviewing and understanding the AI-generated code, you can meticulously manage its integration with the existing codebase. In the long run, this method builds a vastly more stable and easily maintainable codebase.
Recommended Development Workflow
- Design & Architecture Review: Explain the design direction to Claude and receive structural feedback and improvement suggestions
- Feature Unit Code Drafting: Request code generation from Claude in batch units, review it manually, and integrate
- Bug Detection & Stability Review: Show the drafted code to ChatGPT to identify bugs and areas for improvement
- Technical Research: Utilize Gemini when real-time information is needed, such as the latest library trends or searching for specific issues
💡 Practical Tip
When asking Claude to draft code, clearly convey your tech stack and purpose, such as “This code will be integrated with the existing [Filename] structure. It is a Spring Boot 3.x / Java 25 environment, and please prioritize maintainability.” Handing the completed code to ChatGPT and requesting, “Find potential bugs or areas for improvement in this code,” often catches elements Claude missed. This approach can vary depending on your working style, so finding the pattern that suits you best is essential.

How to Make Your Subscription Fees Worth It?
Subscribing to all three AIs costs a considerable amount of money each month. The fastest way to check if you are spending this money wisely is simple. Look at the task you are currently doing and ask yourself: “Am I using this AI for the task it does best right now?”
Funneling all your work into a single AI just because it’s familiar is akin to hiring three team members but assigning tasks to only one. At first, dividing roles might feel cumbersome, as deciding whom to assign which task to requires building a new habit. However, if you consciously practice this for just one month, you will personally experience producing significantly higher quality results in the same amount of time.
AI is a tool. And utilizing good tools properly is true competence. The ability to combine and use these three AIs is now becoming a core competency in the digital age.
Conclusion — AI Combination is Competitiveness
Gemini, ChatGPT, Claude. These three AIs are not competing entities; they are team members with different roles. Gemini handles information gathering and image generation, ChatGPT manages review and proofreading, and Claude takes charge of coding and long-form writing. The moment you understand and practice this division of roles, your three subscription fees transform from a cost into an investment.
You can follow the 4 workflows introduced in this article exactly as they are, or you can modify them to fit the specific nature of your work. The key is breaking away from the habit of entrusting everything to one AI and building a routine where you utilize each AI in the area it shines the brightest.
